      Speaker: Dean La, Channel Manager, Southern California and Hawaii, Secure Power Division APC by Schneider Electric.

       

      Topic: For this upcoming ISSA session, Dean will discuss considerations for Physical Security in distributed IT environments. He will also be presenting on strategies to minimize vulnerabilities, proactive management to meet compliance and - how to keep sustainability in mind with security!

       

      Bio: Dean is the Channel Manager covering Hawaii for APC by Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and the world's most sustainable company. With a combined background in sales and leadership he brings a consultative approach to his partnerships, focusing on educating and empowering companies to better utilize battery back-up, datacenter, cooling, software, and lifecycle management - all while doing things the green way. Outside of work, Dean is a long tenured high school basketball coach, local men's league team player, and avid strength trainer. He lives in Irvine, California with his wife who dances hula and recently competed with her hālau at the Merrie Monarch Festival!

Currently Ton is the Principal Systems Engineer for Veeam software supporting the Southern California and Hawaii customers.

      Speaker: Special Agent Kyle Storm. SA Storm has been with the FBI for over fourteen years focusing on criminal and national security cyber investigations for the majority of his career. SA Storm is assigned to the FBI Honolulu Division's Cyber Squad as part of the Computer Analysis Response Team.

      Speaker: Maryssa Shigesato, Data Analyst. Data Analyst Shigesato has been with the FBI for two and a half years assisting with both cyber and non-cyber criminal and national security cases. She is assigned to the FBI Honolulu Division's Cyber Squad. DA Shigesato is currently a PhD candidate in epidemiology at UH-Manoa.

      In this discussion, we will talk about challenges in the security of facility-related control systems (sometimes referred to as Operational Technology, or OT, or SCADA).  We'll define related acronyms in this area and discuss recent publicized security breaches. Further discussion will include the clash of cultures between construction project timeliness and due diligence for cyber requirements.

It sets the tone for everything security related in your environment. Attendees will receive a template that they can take back to the office and continue to work on.

      Those who already have a policy can use this session to update it and add some items that may be missing.
